Title: Optical Measurement of Thermal Diffusivity in Strongly Correlated Systems
Abstract: Transport phenomena in many strongly correlated systems has eluded traditional transport models based on the existence of quasiparticles. Recently, diffusivity has emerged as a quintessential parameter in the search for an appropriate framework in the absence of quasiparticle modes. We will present our measurement of thermal diffusivity using a non-local, contact, optical method on selected cuprates, and discuss its relation to quantum chaos and fundamental bounds.
