Robert H. Siemann Graduate Fellowship in Physics

The Siemann Graduate Fellowship honors the career of Robert H. Siemann, who was a Professor at SLAC, with a Courtesy Appointment in Applied Physics, specializing in accelerator physics.

The fellowship provides supplementary stipend support ($5,000 per year for the term of the fellowship) to a graduate student who has committed to doing accelerator research at SLAC or to Ph.D. candidates from the Physics Department engaged in research under the supervision of a Faculty advisor from KIPAC. Additionally, $20K in research funding, over the entire duration of the fellowship, will be made available to the fellow, with co-signature authority given to the advisor, for expenditures that support the student's research program.

Eligibility

1. Ph.D. candidates from any department that are engaged in Accelerator Physics research.
2. Ph.D. candidates from the Physics Department engaged in research under the supervision of a faculty advisor from KIPAC.   It is preferable, though not required, that these applicants are conducting research at SLAC.

Application Requirements

The application requires a brief (no more than 3 pages) research proposal from the graduate student and a letter of endorsement from the research advisor, sent by the graduate student and advisor, respectively, to An Nguyen at antnguyn [at] stanford.edu (antnguyn[at]stanford[dot]edu) with subject line “SIEMANN 2027”.
