Conradin Von Gugelberg Memorial Lecture on the EnvironmentDr. Steven Chu is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Physics and Professor of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Stanford University. Prior to his role at Stanford, Dr. Chu served as the 12th U.S. Secretary of Energy under President Barack Obama from January 2009 until April 2013. As the longest serving Energy Secretary, he began several initiatives including ARPA-E (Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy), the Energy Innovation Hubs, and the Clean Energy Ministerial meetings.                 At Stanford, Dr. Chu engages students and faculty from across campus to develop ways to facilitate addressing the country's energy problems, focusing on new pathways to sustainable, carbon dioxide-neutral energy.Hosted by the Public Management and Social Innovation Program at the Center for Social Innovation, this annual event was established by members of the Stanford MBA Class of 1987 in memory of their classmate who had a special commitment to preserving and protecting the Earth's resources.When:
